COURSE 2: ADVANCED INPUT AND OUTPUT TECHNIQUES
These classes are designed for the filePro application developers who would like to expand their skills to make applications that are more user-friendly and interactive, and to use the tools in filePro that will give the best results for their programming time. You will be provided with programming code that can be used as templates or placed in your library, to add to your own applications.
Programming examples will include features available with 5.0 but many will also be functional under older versions of filePro. Many library routines that will be developed can be added to your own programming environment.
STN introduces its new, expanded training program to better serve the filePro community. This intense course is designed to serve those programmers already maintaining databases, who want to expand their skills with more advanced filePro techniques.
Each student works with an IBM laptop on our new, wireless network with a SCO Unix Server. Each student has a dedicated filePro database with which to create the filePro elements as they are learning them. Student work can be printed as well as displayed on the main teaching screen, to discuss techniques and results obtained.
Prerequisite Skills:
Course 1 for filePro Database Managers, or equivilant experience in filePro which should include Define Files, Screens, and Reports; full understanding of Inquire, Update, Add, and Request Output; and experience in filePro processing doing calculations and assigning dummy variables. Actual filePro programming experience or some actual designs of your own will better prepare you for the topics discussed.
