MoveTrac^TM Dispatch Module

Overview

The Dispatch Module stores and handles all booked jobs and manages them regardless of how far in the future dates are set for activities. It also stores completed jobs, until archived or purged, for an unlimited period of time. The Dispatch Module allows the dispatcher to schedule multiple jobs on one truck, one job on multiple trucks on multiple days, or any combination of these variations.

The dispatcher is provided with many computer based tools for developing his dispatch schedule. A "wall" gives a visual display of the traditional manual magnetic wall display. "What-if" programs allow him to manipulate jobs and trucks, and the loads, locations, and available time, and match his work requirements with his resources. He can build computer models of his dispatch day to optimize his use of people and trucks.

A variety of reports provide such information as daily work lists, drivers' dispatch sheets, delivery and pickup receipts, and weekly work-at-a-glance reports.

Dispatch Module Management

The dispatcher is provided three automated tentative lead configuration worksheets for developing his dispatch schedule. Through manipulation of his jobs and trucks, and the loads, locations, and available time, he is able to match his work requirements with his resources. When he is satisfied, the computer converts the selected model to the active schedule.

The "Wall"

This on-line program provides a visual depiction of the classic, manual, magnetic wall mounted 30 day schedule. It replaces it with a clear version that extends out for an unlimited time. It is available to all system users. All changes and updates are instantaneous and immediately accessible.

Unlimited Advanced Bookings

Dispatch Operations schedules customers for packing, pickup, release, delivery, re-shop, and other activities. Scheduled activity is automatically provided to the dispatcher for each day, so that no activity is overlooked. Dispatch Operations allows you to schedule booking for an unlimited period in the future. When a customer is on a no\e or two year tour, you can schedule his next move, and the system will "remember" it and alert you when it is time to begin processing it.

Route Sheets

The Dispatch Operations module automatically generates route sheets for each truck, showing each stop, the shipper's name, address, phone number, number of items to be handled, and estimated weights.

Fleet Management

The Dispatch module includes a vehicle database for operating a fleet of trucks. Each truck is listed along with its classification, size, make, model, year, license, registration number, and primary driver. Maintenance is tracked for each vehicle, with sates of last servicing, vehicle inspection, and registration expiration.

Trucks Out-Of-Service

The Dispatch module keeps track of vehicle availability. The system alerts the dispatcher when a truck is out of service. It also alerts him when a truck is already scheduled for a specific day. He can still schedule it at his own discretion.
